Privacy Policy

Effective August 6, 2026 · applies to the Caseback web app, the Caseback iOS app, and joincaseback.com (together, the “Service”), operated by the House of Wildes (“we,” “us”). Questions: hello@joincaseback.com. See also our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, the username and display name you choose, and an optional profile photo and bio. Authentication is handled by our infrastructure provider, Supabase; your password is stored by Supabase in hashed form and is never visible to us.

Content you create. Wrist-check photos and captions, comments, the watches you log in your collection (brand, model, reference, year, and any purchase price or value you choose to enter), watch photos you upload, badges you display, game answers and scores, votes, and any messages you send us through the in-app inquiry form (name, email, topic, and message).

Usage information. Basic product signals: session start, which areas of the app are visited, time spent, search terms entered in the in-app search, and device type. Visitors who browse without an account are counted anonymously (a session and pages viewed, with no account identifier). We do not collect precise location, contacts, or your camera roll — when you post a photo, only the single image you select is uploaded.

Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a push subscription token for your device so we can deliver social notifications (likes, comments, follows). You can revoke this at any time in your device or browser settings.

2. What we do with it

We use this information to run the Service: display your profile and posts to other members, calculate community statistics (such as total collection value and model counts), maintain streaks, standings, and badges, deliver notifications you have asked for, respond to inquiries, keep the Service safe, and understand which features are used so we can improve them.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.

3. What other members can see

Caseback is a social app. Your username, display name, profile photo, bio, posts, comments, follows, badges, wear counts, and logged watches are visible to other members. Collection values are visible only if you leave “show value” on — you can hide your total and per-watch values at any time in Settings, and you can hide individual watches entirely. Aggregate community figures (for example, “27 watches at the table”) do not identify you unless your value display is on.

4. Service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to operate the Service, each of which processes data only to provide their service to us:

Watch catalog and price-guide imagery is served from third-party image services; those requests carry standard technical data (IP address, user agent) to the image host, as with any image on the web.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use local storage on your device to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (such as your value-display mode and theme). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual posts, comments, and watches at any time — deletion is immediate and permanent. To delete your entire account and its data, use the option in Settings or email us; we will remove your account, content, and associated usage records within 30 days, except records we must keep for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Backups roll off on a fixed schedule after deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, email us and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of under “Do Not Sell.”

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our providers. Access to production data is limited to the operator of the Service. Database access is governed by row-level security policies so members can only modify their own content. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information we will notify you as required by law.

10. International visitors

The Service is operated from the United States and data is processed there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will post the new version here, update the effective date, and note the change in the app. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
